5th August - Diuris pardina - Donkey Orchid

Diuris pardina

Description:
The Donkey or Leopard orchid was called Diuris maculata but for some reason is now Diuris Pardina.

Flowering:
Flowering occurs from July through to November.

Threats:
Diuris pardina is still reasonably well pollinated and does reasonably well provided woody weeds (both introduced and indigenous) are not allowed to take over and reduce biodiversity.

Management:
Benefits from the area being mowed every few years.
